IPRAS stands for the international confederation for plastic, reconstrucitve and aesthetic surgery.
The purpose of IPRAS is to promote the art and science of plastic surgery, to further plastic surgery education and research, to provide care for patients in need worldwide and to encourage friendship among plastic surgeons and physicians of all countries.
Since its formation in 1955, IPRAS has grown steadily over the past and is currently holding 102 member countries, representing almost 100.000 members worldwide. The governance of IPRAS is patterned on the structure of the United Nations and is designed to provide all countries with the opportunity to participate in its activities.
